Before You Sell the Fight, Give the Audience a Reason to Care About the Fighter
A great fight can entertain an audience for fifteen minutes. A GREAT HUMAN STORY CAN MAKE SOMEONE FOLLOW A FIGHTER FOR FIFTEEN YEARS. Combat sports are ultimately about people. Before asking an audience to care who wins, introduce them to the people who are fighting.
Story Questions:
- Where did the fighter come from?
- How did they discover the sport?
- What did they sacrifice?
- Where do they train?
- Who is waiting at home?
- Who are they supporting?
- What does winning this fight mean to their family?
- What obstacles did they overcome?
HUMAN STORIES CROSS BORDERS
A fighter does not necessarily have to be Mexican to develop Mexican fans. Or Argentine to develop Argentine fans. Or Puerto Rican to develop Puerto Rican fans. A Brazilian, Irish, Japanese, African, American or European fighter can develop a passionate Hispanic following when audiences discover something in that fighter’s journey they understand.
- Family.
- Sacrifice.
- Ambition.
- Pride.
- Opportunity.

THE DIFFERENCE
Put two unknown athletes inside a cage and you may have a great fight.
Introduce those athletes to the audience first and suddenly:
“THE VIEWER ISN’T WATCHING TWO FIGHTERS.
THEY’RE WATCHING TWO PEOPLE THEY KNOW.”
When the audience cares who wins or loses, you have accomplished something more valuable than attracting a viewer.
YOU HAVE CREATED A FAN.
LET'S BUILD THE STORY
Every fighter has a story beyond the cage. We help transform athletes into recognizable personalities by creating meaningful stories that build emotional connections and turn viewers into loyal fans.
